Our New Solid Wood Kitchen Table

I finally finished painting my new table that Mr. Right built me for Christmas. Here's the before...
And here's the after...
I painted it with a black satin finish, sanded the edges...
and then applied Briwax in clear to protect the top. Mr. Right was worried about using a poly coat- because it does chip and yellow. On our wood floors we also chose not to use a poly- we just applied tongue oil and they're holding up great. Only problem?
Now I need to redo all my chairs! Those darn fancy jeans my girls wear- tear us the seats of my chairs. Let me know what you think. Love, Kelly.

  1. I love your table! I want it! So, to paint it did you use a brush, roller, spray? In my few attempts at painting furniture I haven't achieved as nice a look as you have here. And, I have a few larger pieces I'd love to try, but I'd love to know what is easiest & most effective. Also, was your paint oil or water based?
