Trash To Cash

Two months ago I posted about my financial goals.  My budget is in full swing and I'm happy to report that we are on track.  We are currently emptying "The Studio" and should have the carpet ripped out by this weekend.  (I'll try to take some pics)  Here's a few of my recent sales that have helped pay down our  debt...

I picked up this Dolce & Gabbana Blue Leather Shoulder Handbag at a garage sale for $2.50.  It sold on ebay for  $137.50

I splurged on this Women's New With Tags Ralph Lauren Size 4 White Eyelet Summer dress at a local clothing exchanged store.  The original price tag was $179- the store was selling it for $14.00 but had marked it 50% off because it had a little red lipstick on the front.  I was able to remove the stain with "Shout".  It sold on ebay for $44.00.  When I first started selling on ebay, I wasn't willing to ever pay more than $1.00 for clothing.  Now that I've gained some experience and know what sells- it really does pay off to invest a little more for a larger profit margin.  When I spent $1.00 the items usually sold for $10-$15 and I was thrilled.  Now I might spend $5-10 but the items sell for $25-$50.  As you become more comfortable selling on ebay- experiment with higher end second hand stores, rather than just Goodwill- It's working for me.  Love, Kelly.

  1. I love the white dress! Wow that purse profit is amazing. I am the same way when it comes to investing more. I feel that I have a rhythm going and am more comfortable paying more. Do you think now is a good time to start listing Fall Back to School clothing?

  2. Katie,
I usually list my fall items in September and October is one of my biggest sales months- however, with the list 50 free per month you may take a chance and list it now- you can always relist.
