Put a Bird on it - Part II

The bird thing has taken over my house.
That’s karma, isn’t it.
More often then not, when I’m out looking for specific trash, I usually find what I want.
I want birds.
I want owls.
For .50 cents, how can I go wrong with a hand-painted ceramic owl?
Have birds and owls always been there and I didn’t see them?
It’s like when I was pregnant with my first child.  I remember every where I went I saw pregnant woman.  All of a sudden it seemed like everyone was pregnant.  Was this a new phenomenon or was it because I was more aware?
I find this amazing velvet-covered vintage clover.  Yes, that’s the scene of an Irish pub on the front, cobblestone and all.
A few days later, I find this owl dish towel hanger.
No, I don’t want to hang a towel on this.
I just want the owl
In my Irish pub.
I love this for St. Patrick’s Day.  I’ll hang it on my front door.
I find a bird cage
and more birds inside.
The plastic grapes are a nice touch, don't you think?  I've got big plans for this beauty.  It's called heirloom white spray paint, vintage jewelry and NO plastic grapes.
So, here's the question.  What if I put a bird on anything I find?
Does it make the piece more valuable?
More treasured?
Can it make for a better re-sell?
A Boscoware Belgium Cast Iron Pot?
An old wood crate?
My $1.00 cheese dome?
The constitution of the United States of America?
I see the potential.
Maybe I should be putting birds on all my trash.
A retro cabinet hutch?
A vintage desk?
My Crouse-Hinds Walk/Don't Walk Urban Light Post?
A retro lamp shade?
Man, this bird thing could be huge.  It really brings trash to life.  I'll let you know if I see an increase in my profits.
Or maybe, I'm just mocking it.
I'll never tell (hee, hee, hee)!

  8. That lampshade - love it. Love it! It's really cool. Ok, ahem. Found a ton of owls at a local thrift shop this week, but only walked out with 2 of them.

  9. I like the idea of adding a bird to each item. But then maybe not everyone sees birds as quaint. Seven years ago I suddenly saw and heard birds. Funny how that went. Then 2 years ago the mama of mine and me began feeding the birds around here. I used to say I wouldn't ever do such a thing. Funny how that went, too.
