This Weeks Garaging Finds

Totally estatic doesn't begin to describe how I feel about this weeks trash. Take a look. The little wood ladder on the left was $2. I'm not sure what I've got planned for it yet, but I couldn't resist. The ornate screen in the back was just $5 and sold on craiglist less than 1 hour after it was posted- I'll share how much on Wednesday at The Big Challenge update.
This antique wagon was $10, a new ballerina music box craft was $1 (My 6 year old is in love with it) The metal yellow airplane was $1 and the new dinosaur Robeez were $3 and will make a great resale item on ebay. The set of stacking blocks are Winnie the Pooh and cost just .50 they will go to friend who's doing a Pooh Nursery. Can you see my carved, curved leg table in the background. It is HEAVY- solid wood and cost only $25 (A big thank you to my friend Jamie who called and let me know this one was for sale) I'm planning on painting her up today.
This jewelry box was actually a craigslist purchase for $30- My 12 year old has been asking for one for quite sometime. I'll need to give her a quick little touch up with white, but it is in perfect condition.
This decorator lamp was $10, the frame, which will be used for 11 year old's bling room redo, was $1 and the new lamp shades were .50.
I love this glass lamp that was $5 and again, it's a perfect item for the 11 year old's room. The tierd wire holder was $2 and the wood dumb bells were $1.
These topiaries were $3 each- I will probably spray the pots black and use them on my back patio.
The green frame was $2 and the resin scrolly design was $1.
I really made out with lots of bling for the 11 year olds room. I picked up 3 brand new Ikea chandeliers for $20.00 total. You'll have to wait and see what I do with these. The little table they're sitting on was just $5.
And finally, a pottery barn queen size iron headboard with glass knobs- $10.
If I haven't said it before- I love collecting trash. Each weekend find makes my head swim with ideas for decorating, creating and repurposing. Hope you're weekend was as rewarding. Love, Kelly

  8. You really have a great eye for finding treasures! Just the fact that all this stuff might have ended up in the landfill is enough to make me crazy, but I'm so glad someone like you was able to see them for the real gems they are! Good work! Thanks for sharing at Modern Craftswoman Monday. Rory
