Two Tierd Antique Table Redo & Farewell

What a fabulous garaging weekend- Can't wait to show you my finds... tomorrow. Hopefully that's a little teaser that will encourage you to come back to visit. In the meantime, My baby girl (She's now 20) has left on an incredible adventure. At 11:59 last night she boarded a plane for Florida, she has an internship with no other than Disney World. She'll be gone 6 1/2 months working in the costume department, I know, how cool is that! We will miss her greatly. Here's a really poor quality picture (I took it with my phone) but you can see how excited she is. Because of her move, we will be shuffling our rooms around a bit- our 11 year old will get her own room, and our 1 year old will move out of our bedroom, in with our 6 year old. Don't worry, we'll take lots of pictures of the transformations- Any excuse to redecorate and I'm on it!Now, on with the table make-over. I picked up this beautiful antique table at our fundraiser sale we had for the Call family. Again, I paid one price for several items so no exact price on this. I don't know if you can see the inlaid wood around the edges, but you can also probably see the dog chewed leg on the bottom left as well as the damage to the tops. I hate to paint over a beautiful antique, but with this piece is was either paint or trash.
I'm thrilled to say the paint worked. A few coats of Rustoleums heirloom white and it's a beauty. The dog chewed leg is now pictured on the right- the bottom is a little more rounded then the other legs, but I don't think it's very noticeable.
Here's an upclose of some of the distressing I did. I have great plans for this table for Laura's upcoming baby shower- I'll post pics in March.
Here she is again, looking perfect in my living room. I actually picked up a table almost identical to this for $5 just 2 weeks before so I'll be painting that one up as well.
Hope you had a great weekend- I know I did- (another teaser to pull you back tomorrow for garaging finds) Let me know what you think. Love, Kelly

  1. When I dropped my stuff off that Friday, I almost bought that table. I'm glad to see it found a better home than here! And tell Amanda how excited I am for her. What an adventure!

  2. I love that table!

Hmm...wish I knew how to send you a picture of my "new" hand-crank wringer/washer. (I told my husband it was part of my emergency preparedness plan and NOT another piece of antique junk.) Great weekend for yard sales -- even here in the frozen northlands!

  5. I love this style of table and it looks so great in the white. These two tiered tables are a little odd, but I think they're making a come back. Very nice!
