Half-Moon Originals Give-Away

I have some sweet, super-talented friends named Karen and Susan. They run an Etsy store called
They craft steel fabric-covered magnetic boards. Clever, cute and practical.
I have a brand-new baby girl.
Isn't she sweet.
My great friends made this Half-Moon Original gift for my brand-new baby girl (thank you and I love it).
I love the little steel magnets that hold my items in place.
And now Half-Moon Originals wants to give away one of their designs to a lucky follower of My Dear Trash.

Do you want to win this little beauty? Her name is Ellie.
She measures 25.5 by 30 inches. That's some serious decorating space to fill.

You know the routine. Become a follower and leave a comment. If you're already a follower, just leave a cute little comment and your qualified too.
I asked Karen and Susan to share their story, for us to learn and be enlightened by their journey to Etsy success. Here's what they had to say.

Hello, our names are Karen and Susan. Over the years we have each created many different things. We have always known that we wanted to create something together, but we weren't sure what. We love fabric and we both love to decorate our homes. We feel a desire to make beautiful things and surround ourselves with things we have created. The decision to create magnet boards just evolved. We wanted magnet boards for our little girls rooms so we played around with the idea of covering the metal with fabric, and we came up with this. We were lucky to have Susan's husband Mike help us out with the metal. He owns a sheet metal fabricating shop and we were able to program their plasma cutter to cut out our designs. We have been excited to try out all the different shapes we have thought of. We had fun creating our etsy site and had help from Karen's husband Tony in creating our logo and our graphics (ok he designed them for us, we didn't really help at all except to pick from the many beautiful options he created!) When we are not creating beautiful magnet boards, we are spending time with our families. Between the two of us we have 9 children, 2 dogs, a cat, a gecko, and 2 husbands. We first met in 2004 when Susan moved into the neighborhood. Karen decided Susan could be her friend when she offered her candy from her purse in church. It is a truth universally acknowledged that anyone who has candy in their purse at church (and is willing to share) can be our friend.

Karen and Susan, thank you so much for sharing your story and for the amazing give-away. Winner will be announced Friday, April 23.

F.Y.I. The Earth Day Book Drive is going great. We've already filled both bins at Changing Hands and Bookmans and new bins are ready to be filled. Earth Day is Thursday, April 22. Do something special and donate your gently used books to either the My Dear Trash Earth Day book drive or to a library in your community. Mother Earth thanks you.
