This old rusted bell came from a different garage sale. I tried to negotiate on the $10 price tag, but the seller wouldn't budge. After a little deliberation with Mr. Right we decided it would look great on the front porch and we shelled out the $10.
This stack of star boxes were $10 total- might be another front porch item. They have original prices on them of 18.00 for the small and 24.00 for the medium. The old kerosene can and the metal container were $2 each. The brand new Pampered Chef chopper was part of a group purchase for $40- I'll show you the rest of the group below.
It includes these two airplanes- with tags still attached...18.98 each
and the fire truck and the two metal gangster cars. $40 was a little high for me, but the retail value of these 6 items was $130, so I grabbed them up. The number 2 crock was $2.00 and will great in my kitchen holding utensils. At another sale, I fell in love with these yellow jars. They have their original price stickers from Z Gallery: 24.95 for the large, 18.95 for the smaller. I paid $5.00 each. The french dress form was also $5- the seller said she paid $50 for it at Harrods in London. (WOW) The ironstone bowl, filled with antique wooden spools and the pewter dish were $4 for the set.
The fabric fruits are made from wool and were handmade by a lady in pennsylvania- When you ask the price for something at a yard sale and hear a story like that, you assume the price will reflect their uniqueness- Not this time, I only paid $1 each for the large and .50 for the small sizes. The cute picket basket was $2.
If you haven't noticed in past posts, I have a thing for glass jars and stars- so I could feel my heart start to race when I saw these. At $2.00 each, I bought all she had. The cute stand that my treasures are resting on was $10.00 and will definitely be a new addition to the front porch.
Here's another large star box- I paid $5.00 and the wood finial was just $1.00.
Looks like we've already packed for Florida! I picked up these carry on size suitcases (2 of which are brand new) for $17. This purchase will save us the $35 per bag fee to check in a bag (gotta love US Airways) Now we're planning on just checking one bag with all of our toiletries (things you can't take on the plane) and each of us will take a carry on.
And finally... A little tikes activity gym. Little tikes is always a great resale item. They really hold their value. I paid $5 and sold it on craigslist within hours. I let you know how much on Wednesday at The Big Challenge.
What a fantastic weekend. Hope yours was just as great. Love, Kelly.

Wow! Looks like you scored big.
ReplyDeleteI need some resale advice from you. I scored a nice smaller cabinet/TV stand type piece over the weekend and had the hubby help pick out the paint. I was hoping to get more of a vintage looking black but ended up with a charcoal gray once it was on the furniture (oops). We've painted one coat and I'm just afraid that a gray cabinet wont sell as well as a black cabinet. Do you suggest sticking with the color it is or spending the extra money to get the black paint?
WOW! great stuff!!
ReplyDeleteLinda,
ReplyDeleteIf the cabinet is finished, try listing it with the grey color. If it doesn't sell in a couple of weeks- The I'd repaint it in black. Black is definitely a quick seller- but you never know who's out there looking and what their tastes are. Good luck.
Oh man love the items you got esp the planes & cars.
ReplyDeleteThose are all so cute!
ReplyDeleteYou always amaze me! I love the antique toys! SO jealous! I just refinished a table for my daughter and would love to have you feature it! (Along with the chair that I made!)
