I love that people are willing to sit out in this scorching hot Arizona weather to sell me their trash. Another great weekend. Here's my finds...Lets get a closer look...
The 2 wicker room dividers are from ikea and cost only $3 each. I placed these on craigslist and sold them within a few hours- You'll have to check back on Trash to Cash Wednesday to see how much I made!
I purchaed 2 of these solid wood barstools for $5 each. With a new coat of paint (cream? or Black?) I should be able to sell them for around $40 each. On top of the barstool is a fenton butter dish. I'm kind of a sucker for milk glass so I purchased the butter dish, the large white fruit bowl and the clear glass apothecary jar for $12.00. My favorite find of the weekend, however, is also on top of the stool- Do you know what that is? It's a Bose SoundDock. I already own one of these in white so I can tell you they cost $299.00. No one puts out the sound that Bose does, so it's completely worth it. How much did I pay for this almost new Bose Ipod docking station and Speaker. (the seller was getting married and her fiance already had one- she just got it for Christmas and had hardly used it)... $15. Mr. Right will probably take this one to work- although the girls already asked if it could be the official "outside" ipod player- Are you kidding??? Also picture are a few disney dvd's for $1 each, a pampered chef large stoneware bar pan for $1 (will resell on craigslist), a beautiful glass pitcher for $3, and a funky angel trunk for $3. I have some fun plans for the trunk so stay tuned.
These pictures have incredible frames- but I also like the pictures- so we'll have to see what becomes of these. The largest french cafe picture was $5, the gold frame picture was $3 and the small french picture was $2.
Here's the other barstool- covered with... Canning jars. I picked up 2 boxes of canning jars plus several boxes of extra lids and seals for just $3. We can jam and peach cobbler each year and my Father-In-Law makes a yummy salsa. New, these jars are about $1 each- so a big savings for me. Hope you all had great garaging too. Love, Kelly.

Great finds! How do you can peach cobbler? It sounds yummy!
ReplyDeleteFIFTEEN??!!!! Oh wow!! I love mine, I can't believe they didn't just put it in another area of the house?! Congrats, fantastic find!
ReplyDeleteI would love to know too about the peach cobber! :)
ReplyDeleteSuper great finds!
Kerri and The Whimsical Princess,
ReplyDeleteI actually can the filling:
Cobbler filling:
• 4 cups peeled and sliced fresh peaches
(blanch in boiling water for 30 seconds to remove the skins)
• 3/4 cup brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 tablespoon flour
Then all I have to do to make cobbler is dump the filling in a baking dish- mix up the topping:
1/2 C. margarine, melted
1 1/3 C. flour
1/2 t. salt
1 t. vanilla
1 1/3 C. oatmeal
2/3 C. brown sugar
1/2 t. soda
3/4 Cup roasted Pecans
Pour over peach filling. Bake at 375 for 45 minutes.
It is so yummy. Sometimes we make it in a dutch oven when we're camping. Let me know if you try it.
That sounds yummy.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, do you have more pictures of the room with tan bead board and white top? I'm looking at redoing the colors in the kitchen/dining room and this looks like it might work.
I need help. I was inspired by you and how you raised money for a family trip. I am only trying to raise $300, but so far, I've only raised $33 and I have less than two months. I have listed about 23 things total on E-Bay and can't seem to make the same profit as you... sigh. I'd love to hear tips!
ReplyDeleteDebtfreedowds,
ReplyDeleteHere's a few ebay tips:
I don't generally sell children's clothes, start your items between $6-$10, because most items will only receive 1 bid. Shirts- unless they're special- I start around $6, Jeans are $8-$9, pants around $7, etc. If an item doesn't sell the first time, relist at the same price, next time lower it to $5.50, then give it a final try at $2.99- at this point if it doesn't sell I pull it off ebay and sell it at my next yard sale. Plus sizes sell best. Make sure to include measurements in your listing, a clear picture and accurate description. Hope this helps.
