Ramblings of a Busy Housewife Day 2

Here's my Tuesday:
Up at 5:30- no snooze button today as there's too much to do! I make my bed...
I took a picture because this is a new habit I'm trying to get into (didn't make it yesterday) and wanted to show myself how much better it looks when made. Now it's on to breakfast (french toast) and lunch packing. Tuesday is also laundry day. My 8 year olds job is to gather the baskets and sort into whites, colors, darks, jeans and towels. Here it is waiting for me...
I throw in the first load and then head out the door to run a few errands- Who goes to Walmart at 6:30am? Turns out lots of people do. I need to pick up some chips for the high school band's dinner and a few craft supplies that I'll show off in a minute. I stop by Sonic on the way home for my favorite treat!
A bag of ice. Yep- I'm an ice chewer and Yep, I know it's horrible for my teeth, but Sonic makes this really good small, soft cube ice that's completely addicting. Anyway, I rush home get the first one off to school and start in on my first project of the day...

A sheet music christmas tree. This idea came from the brilliant Miss Mustard Seed who designed it for the HGTV website. It only took about 15 minutes to make and I absolutely love it. On to the next craft. Remember the brown board from yesterday? Here's how it looks now...I still need to distress and age it, but I'm liking the way it looks so far. I wanted to get these two crafts done before my 10:00am meeting for our Super Saturday activity- but I didn't quite have enough time. Here a little display of my craft ideas for the Super Saturday...

We met for almost 3 hours, but came up with an awesome schedule. Not only will we be offering 8 different crafts, but we'll be doing 3 demonstrations: Painting techniques, pie making and Gingerbread. Can't wait to show you the other crafts closer to the time. After the meeting and while waiting for the laundry I gathered and priced items to take to our booth at Qcumberz. Here's what things looked like when I arrived...
We had another great month but our space is looking a little shabby. Here's a little peak at the after...

Sorry the pictures are so dark, but I was really having trouble with my camera today. After a drive home in the rain AND rush hour traffic- I put in the last load of laundry- ate dinner- (Thank goodness my 12 year old loves to cook and made Sweet and Sour Pork and Rice) It was time to tackle the ironing.
Here's my little assistant giving her best smile for the camera. I always try to iron the same day as laundry- that way it all gets done and I don't have to look at it for another week. With the laundry washed, dried, folded, ironed and put away- I was able to send invoices for all my relist auctions- which ended tonight- and ship 15 packages! I'll definitely sleep well tonight. Love, Kelly.

  1. Wow! You had a busy day. I wish I could make myself get up that early. I also wish I was as adept at the laundry thing as you. Ironing is one of those put off until tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow things until I'm buried in it. I'm getting better but I'm not there yet. :( Crafts are looking good. Have a good rest of your week.
