A Few Before and Afters

If you missed my post on how I turned my hutch into a shelf you can see it here. This is the before paint picture...And now here's the after...
The picture is a little dark, but the black is really stunning. Difficult to stage this one because in order to hang I have to drill through the support brace- Thought I'd save that for the person who buys it- Hopefully someone will buy it! Here's another little before and after...
French style nightstand I picked up at auction for $10. After a light sand, I put the drawers into bags and tape off so the paint doesn't overspray to the inside. I used my sprayer on this one with Behr black satin finish paint. Here's the after...
I've mentioned the used of Briwax before, but I need to say how excellent it is on black. After distressing this piece I applied Briwax in dark brown finish to the entire piece- let dry then buff off- It gives such a smooth finish- here's a closer look at the top...
The hardware was found at Hobby Lobby and now she's been placed on craigslist for $65- If it doesn't sell by the end of next week I'll be taking her down to the shop. We'd love to see your before and afters- link up in the comments section. Love, Kelly.

  1. I like both pieces but I'm most drawn to the hutch/shelf!

  2. It's amazing how much better they look in the black paint. You did a good job on both pieces.
