Furniture Redo For A Friend In Need

I recently had the opportunity to paint furniture for our friend's daughter, Katie. Katie was diagnosed with Leukemia just 6 weeks ago (to learn more visit Katie's Place. ) Her parents have been working on redoing her room and picked up the cutest furniture. The only problem? It had previously been painted and glazed (too mature of a look for a 2 year old) and it all had brown laminate on top. Here's the befores... Nightstand (see those cute legs)HutchDresser

Headboard, footboard and desk (not pictured). Katie's dad gave the room a beautiful coat of lavender paint and the bedding was white with purple butterflies. We decided the furniture should be a crisp white. Here's a few afters...

Can you see the knobs? They're from Hobby Lobby- light purple flowers that look like glass but aren't. Here's the nightstand- with a super cute lamp (not sure where they got it)
It was so fun to be a part of making Katie's space a little more special. Please keep her and the Eps family in your prayers- I truly don't know of a more deserving family. Love, Kelly.

  1. These are so beautiful. I bet they look even better in person. I, for one, know the blessing of having furniture re-done by you. What a excellent gift. The power of paint to the rescue again!

  2. That was very nice of you. My boss's niece who is also 2 was just diagnosed this week with Leukemia as well. I will pray for both of them. I think any of us would go through the treatments for them if we could. So hard for a child to go through without fully comprehending all of it.
